DanieleDerenzi Photography

Capturing the simplicity of a moment is where I find my passion. Being influenced by the photographs of my grandfather, Denes Istvanffy, as well as other significant photographers, like Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham, I discovered that I, too, has an eye for photography.

Born and raised in Pacifica, CA, have been an artist from an early age ~ always creating. I started her pursuit of photography while attending Terra Nova High School, it was then I received my Canon EMF SLR, one of camerasI use today.  Starting with the most available subject, Linda Mar State Beach, I delved in to my first roll of film. I then went on to Skyline Community College.  It was at Skyline where I first knew this was what I was meant to do; take pictures and capture moments.  With the mentoring of some amazing teachers, I enhanced my eye and grew into a stronger photographer. After the first few semesters, I became the lab assistant in the Photo Department and  I would remain the lab assistant until graduating Skyline with honors. It was a great privilege to be chosen as the lab assistant; I really enjoyed her time spent there.  Also, while at Skyline I studied drawing, painting, and writing; tools that to this day help me express myself.

After graduation, I went into retail, starting in Visual/Display and then on to management. It was a slight departure from her camera, but it helped me hone my skills.  Always the photographer, I left my retail job in 2003 to pursue a new job that allowed me to start my own business.  What began as a part time position with a fellow artist in San Francisco and grew into Daniele Derenzi Photography; a small home-based business that specializes in photography and greeting cards.  Then in 2004, I expanded my business to include; A Little Sparkle, personalized ornaments and hand-painted, freehand designed glass ornaments and greeting cards. I sell them at art festivals and small hometown boutiques.

Within the last few years, I have been displaying my photos at local centers, shops and art centers like Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, CA and Coastal Art League in Half Moon Bay, CA as a member of both.  Also, I am a member of the Photographic Society of America since 2004.

There is a beauty in a simple sunset, a tree in the distance or a smile on a child’s face that is what I see and share with you.
